Comparative test of nail files, including glass nail file

Test file!

Which came first egg or chicken? People are thinking over it on and on, and still did not come to one conclusion.

As for me, I have my own personal dilemma; actually I believe some people might have it to. I’m talking about nail files; which one is better: sapphire nail file, paper nail file, 4sided buffer or the glass nail file?

So, decided to test nail files myself, I had samples of each mentioned nail files, you can find them below;

I tried to be impartial and objective, so the result would be fair. But first, I conduct a small survey, we have four women working at the decoration department; I asked only one question which of these nail files they use themselves, and the answer was- glass nail file, some of them been using glass nail file for years and didn’t even think of changing it. But the main reasons for choosing glass nail file were facts that it prevents brittles nails and seals the nails. I think it is very reasonable factor.

#1- Czech glass nail file produced and decorated by Mont Bleu Company. Smooth surface, easy going, not cutting half of your nail, doesn’t damage skin around your nail, thin enough to fit between nail and the rest of the skin, but still thick so you won’t cut yourself accidentally.

#2- 4sided buffer; first thing it is too thick, and especially if you’re not good handling small objects. The side number one for actual filing, still thick, so you can’t get some part of your nail. The other three sides, for my opinion are useless, because of their thickness again.

#3- paper nail file; I think it was too generous to call it paper, as for me it was a pure sanding paper. It really hurt skin around the nail, filed the half of my nail and not where I wanted to.

#4-sapphire or metal nail file; usually you don’t expect metal being smooth, it didn’t happen in case of this nail file too. Too thin, with sharp ends and if I can say sanding metal, was really dangerous to file with it. But it was one positive thing about this nail file; you can use it for cleaning under tips of your nails.

So what can I say, most probably I will keep using my beautiful black glass nail file. And so you believe my words, here some reviews made by others:
